چکیده

Underground fires are still one of the most significant risks in mines today. In order to manage this risk, it is necessary know potential evolution a fire and effects can have on people other objects. Ventilation plays an essential role development fire; also influences propagation toxic fumes variation temperatures all areas mine. Currently, possible jointly analyze, through numerical modeling, ventilation circuit for different scenarios define, detail, emergency plans that need be adopted. paper, study was conducted via use Ventsim Software (an integrated mine tunnel package able analyze airflows, pressures, heat, gases, along defined over time using iterative procedure solve Kirchhoff’s current law). Furthermore, study, illustrated how joint modeling fire, when applied underground gypsum northwest Italy, provides elements define safety procedures should adopted standard conditions as well during due fire. More specifically, identify suitable escape routes depending location available staff evacuate safely.

Noise variability in underground room and pillar coal mines.

Noise in an underground coal mine has dominant components generated mainly from 3 sources: (a) continuous mining machines, (b) roof bolters, and (c) cars/vehicles used to transport personnel and/or coal. Each of these 3 noise sources also has a number of well-defined sub-sources with their own noise characteristics. Sound level meters were used to collect noise data in the form of instantaneous...

Flexible Modeling of Emergency Scenarios using Reconfigurable Systems

In emergency scenarios we can obtain a more effective coordination among team members constituting a mobile ad hoc network (MANET) through the use of reconfigurable systems. This means that cooperative work can be adequately modeled by low level and high level Petri nets with initial markings and the net structure can be adapted to new requirements of the environment during run time by a set of...

Geological 3D modeling for excavation activity in an underground marble quarry in the Apuan Alps (Italy)

The three-dimensional laser scanning technique has recently become common in diverse working environments. Even in geology, where further development is needed, this technique is increasingly useful in tackling various problems such as stability investigations or geological and geotechnical monitoring. Three-dimensional laser scanning supplies detailed and complete geometrical information in sh...

Comparing the “Modified Split and Fender” and “Shortwall” Methods for the Pillar Recovery in Room and Pillar Coal Mining Using A 3D Finite Difference Modeling in Tabas Central Coal Mine, Iran

Selecting a suitable pillar recovery method is one of the most important issues in the room and pillar mining. The main purpose of this study is to compare two methods for pillar recovery in Tabas central coal mine (TCM). Among the existing methods, the two methods, “Modified split and fender” and “Shortwall” are chosen for the numerical modeling. The three dimensional finite difference method ...

Designing an underground car park fire scenarios on a probabilistic basis.

Designing a fire safety measures can be usually achieved in a two ways. One or we should say more conservative way is the use of prescriptive based codes, where all design prerequisites are mainly written in codes. Other or second option is the use of performance based design, where the group of designers, building owners and authorities having jurisdiction are setting up a milestone and design...
